The Colorado National Guard Foundation uses 100% of donations for the support of needy active Guard members and their families. The Colorado National Guard Foundation was established as a result of the Gulf War in 1991. Many Guard members experienced financial hardship due to their deployment. Today, the Foundation assists soldiers and airmen who are experiencing financial hardship and need assistance.
The Foundation gives interest-free loans and grants to soldiers and airmen of the Colorado Army or Air National Guard who are in need of emergency financial assistance. Medical emergencies; line-of-duty injuries in which incapacitation pay is not made to the military member in a timely manner; pay and allowances for Guard duty are late; or a disaster, such as a home burning down, all qualify as emergencies.
The Colorado National Guard Foundation can be contacted at 720-250-1191.
The Chamber of Commerce of Highlands Ranch has donated $23,500 from this event to the Colorado National Guard Foundation since the race inception in 2004!
